Mahela Jayawardena - World Record??? Well what a knock from Mahela against South Africa. He played brilliantly. Finaly he's showing what he's capable of. He's been in great form in recent months, hope he continues. My question is, do you guys reckon he deserve to have gotten the world record held by Lara. I watched prety much every single bowl that he faced, and he did not give any chances at all. It was a near perefect inning. I didn't see Lara's great knock against Engalnd, but was his innings chanceless as Mahela's was?

Yes it's always great to get a good knock on thr road. But I believe at the time Engalnd test team wasn't that great.

Actually it was quite possibly better than it is today, on the bowling front anyhow. Harmison was on fire in that series, Flintoff wasn't too shabby, and Simon Jones discovered that he could bowl.

Actually, I just checked Lara's record and he got his record playing at home. He wasn't on the road.

My personal opinion? Mahela deserved that record. Finish and klaar.
