| Another Series of Blunders
I guess it started with the abrupt cancellation of the scheduled election of office bearers for Sri Lanka cricket. This was done on a presidential directive and enforced by the puppet sports minister, because the party backed by the Government was sure to lose.
What has resulted ? Basically the inability to play cricket in Dambulla, it is impossible to play in Colombo during the South West monsoon as has been proved in no uncertain terms !
If the office bearers that the Government has confidence in, cannot get themselves down to Dambulla and sort out whatever the dispute is and there are some people who can do it but do not get the opportunity because the Government and the President stops them, how can anyone have any confidence in the president or his regime ?
What is the ultimate result ? Sri Lanka has lost the confidence of the cricketing world, she has lost credibilty, as a country we where hosting has left because of security fears when our authorities assured them of their safety and the political "catchers" ineffectuality and lack of ability has been exposed yet again.
Furthermore the financial losses will result in the progrees of the game at grassroot level being affected for years to come.
The Dogs may bark but the caravan rolls on !  |
