| Well Done Sri Lanka ! Choosing to "rest" the main bowlers has drawn a lot of flack from the Aussie camp followers and related medea. This was a fantastic move and the only way we could have made an impact on the OZ machine. What would a token victory have achieved ? It would have made them even more determined and also given them a chance to study our best bowlers close up. Instead our batters got to study their bowlers and our bowlers were rested ! Hopefully we made them mad enough to do something silly in the finals. Well done Sri Lankan management and what a refreshing show of initiative and flair. There is hope after all ! |

| But they have to make sure they reach the finals because they have beat New Zealand in the semis - they did it earlier in super 8s,but it's still going to be tough. It will be interesting how the New Zealand - Sri Lanka semifinal match would turn. That definitely the semi unless New Zealand beats Australia convincingly.

| It is apparent that playing NZ in the semis is what the Lankans want to do. They are probably confident of beating them rather than the Aussies or RSA or even England should they make it. I don't think the kiwis can beat the Aussies on current form but I half hope they do ! |

| SL have talent enough to beat Oz and win the World Cup, but such juvenile tactics are not the way to go about it. All they need to do is play full available strength and to the best of their ability using a strategy that suits the pitch and weather conditions on the day. Such things are bread and butter to any professional captain or coach and it is better to stick to such fundamentals than try to be too clever and shoot yourself in the foot. |

| Australia are the sort of team that will play every match of its sake and little else. If they play SL in the final, they would forget about the earlier meeting and go about their usual business. |

| It is exactly that "soulessness" that nostromo describes that we Lankans' want to remove from the great game. English County cricket and the OZ machine has taken the romance out of cricket. Win or lose we Sri Lankans' intend to infuse it back into the game we love ! |

| Wasnt a great idea in my opinion, every game at this stage is crucial, and in a big match like that, they could have rattled the Aussies in some way with a win, think it will backfire now on the Sri Lankans, as i see a NZ-Aus final around the corner...

| You mean you HOPE, Navdeep. Furthermore you are obviously from an Indian background, if the coach you rejected (MOODY) had used the tactics and flair he has shown with the Lankans he may have taken the Indians further than the first round knockout that is SOOO Hard to bear ??? |

| I think what Sri Lanka have done is terrible. I have lost alot of respect for such an act, unfortunatly. |
