Talking Baseball might be asleep 20/20 rolls on

20/20 looks as it may be the vehichle to draw the Americans to cricket.
Question is do we want them ?
Can we stop them from coming ?

Evolution is a funny thing , how we arrived here becomes less important than the fact that we are here.
We might have problems with the shortening of the game but at the same time Baseball will have problems dealing with the continual action of 20/20 cricket,

Doubters will say its impossible to convert Americans from baseball , but gradualy we will see a lower 20/20 American comp emerge in some High schools & colleges - some American players crossover to international teams etc.

Game On....

They had a 20 over competition last year. I saw some reporting of it in advance - I may even have posted something here - and I particularly remember that, to help the Americans with their counting, they were playing 5 ball overs so that a full innings had 100 balls. This could be the only example of metrication in the USA at the moment, so we should not knock it. However, I have no idea whether this was a success at all - never saw a single report during or after the competition.

The Americans in cricket even in a half hearted way eg : South Los Angeles , or to some of you "South LA" may provide a team thats competitive or superior to Australia , very quickly in a 20/20 competition.

Cool

Big call but !

Michael Bevan & Matt Hayden would be no good at 20/20 cricket.

Justin Langer, Cameron White and the Hussey brothers would be good at 20/20 cricket.

Ricky Ponting will dominate 20/20 cricket.

twenty20 cricket isnt all about big shots , look at ponting and katich , then some big shots started , bevo could handle it , who got a six to win a game against the west indies , thats right , who can do anything from no where thats right bevo , back on topic , america i suppose would go perfect in cricket , lure some baseballers over and theirs your perfect side.

fielding would be good to i suppose

He got "4" to win that game against the West Indies , and lets not forget the performance of "Paul (industructable) Riefell.
