Sorry, could you kindly give an example from your memory, of when 'ul' is required to complete the meaning of a name?

Raza is getting married next week, and will hence forth be unavailable for the first four day game of the series, he will be available for the next game. And he will for certainity lead the side in that game. He lead the Pakistan Academy side too.

I would dissagree in that it would achieve much for the national side. This, IMO, is exactly what an "A" team needs in its side. An experienced older head who can help develope the talent that is coming through. Whats the point in selecting all fresh faces, you need a good mix so you can improve the best ones into taking over from the current test side.

I would be quite happy to see a bowler like Andy Bichel tour with the "A" team to help the bowlers and Darren Lehman for the batting. They can give great advice to players who normally they would not play with let alone talk to.

Actually Hasan Raza has played more Tests, ODIs, First Class and List A matches than Misbah-ul-Haq, so it makes him more experienced in that regard and he is not a fresh face as such. However, being 8 years older, Misbah is definitely an older head and has more life experience and may have much to share with young Hasan. However, I think the initial shock of Maranello was at seeing Hasan's name in the reserves list rather than on the captaincy issue.

Pakistan A pulled off a spectacular win, although the order faltered in hte first innings, and my position for Butt and Malik to open was further strengthened by their play together especially in the second innings, i think they should open for England series, and Sami, Gul looked impresssive.

But this was a second string team for Austrailia and many of onur first team players were playing, it suggests that our players have excellent potential at the test level, and just need to convert these kinds of performances to that level.

Pakistan A humble Australia A by seven wickets

Good spot Captain, I did not know there was an international A team game on - and we call this the World A teams board! Some irony.

Anyway, a link to the scorecard for those who want to know more.

I disagree when you say we had many of our first team players, and Australia had a second-string. This was a very strong A side from Australia, and many of the names in there will become permanent fixtures on the international circuit very soon (Mike Hussey, Hodge, Watson, Haddin and Bracken). Others (eg Thornely, Jacques, White and Cullen) are all reputed to be players of potential and have some pedigree in various first-class cricket. As such, I expect the Australians to come back very strongly in the next game, given their abundant quality.

Similarly, on the Pakistan side, none of the established players were included in the A team, and all of the players on display here are competing for places in the first team, with the possible exception of Asim Kamal, who I would say should be considered a Test regular now.

these aussies will be regulars in the 'future' so for now they are second stringers. and ours are first stringers, alot of them anyway, even though they may not have alot of tests under their belts.

Good win for us. I think I might have heard on telly somewhere that Sami and Butt might not be available for the next match because they were flying to SA to take part in Jack Kallis' benefit match.

Sami and Butt are playing today. Sami actually bowled quite well earlier on, currently his figures 6-1-22-1 (and only 1 wide, no no-balls).
