| I guess you have a point there Orchid. And considering both Butt and Sami didn’t do too badly: Butt made 102 off 144 balls against a formidable bowling attack comprising Pollock, Ntini, Nel, Langeveldt, Hall and Boje and Sami got 2-39 in 8 overs against an equally respectable batting line up reading Smith, Dippenaar, Hall, Boje, Prince, Kemp, Boucher and Pollock) I shouldn’t really be complaining. Full scorecard: http://pak.cricinfo.com/db/ARCHIVE/2...16SEP2005.html Perhaps it’s just that I hate to see any Pakistan side do badly. I hope the A-side had a better day 2 then day 1. |

| A reasonably good day for Pakistan A today - Aus-A declared at 407/8, and Pakistan-A reached 249/6 at the close of Day 3 (this is a four day match). Pak recovered partially from 111/4, thanks mainly to an unbeaten 111 from Hasan Raza. Why this man is not playing Test cricket is a mystery! Link to scorecard

Because at present there is no vacancy in the middle order, and that's where Hasan plays. If only he was an opener… And never heard of this guy Daniel Cullen, who has taken 3 wicket today, apparently he is an offie and just 21. More here Last edited by Zainub : 19-09-2005 at 03:34 PM. |

| There is no vacancy in the middle-order now - however, this is a very recent development as Asim Kamal and Younis Khan have now cemented their spots. Till very recently there were great holes in the middle-order, and Raza was the best candidate to fill them - he was overlooked inexplicably. He still remains the best batting prospect in Pakistan outside of the first XI, but this view is not shared by the team management and the selectors. PS: Beny and the rest have been talking of Cullen very frequently in the various discussions of up and coming Aussie players.

| I have nothing against Raza, he's a quality bat and what's more he's a Karachi lad, why would I have anything against him. But I just don't know how to get him in the team at the moment, in whose place - Inzi : NO Yousuf : NO Khan : NO Kamal : no (notice that I say small no) ...a squad place would be more then justified though...that way as soon as anyone gets injuired/banned/unavailable for any other reason he'll have his chance. |

| The one-day series started today, PTV were showing the match. The match was relocated to the Gadaffi from Bagh-e-Jinnah after a bomb blast killed 5 and injuired dozens other near Minar-e-Pakistan. I saw a few overs towards the end of our innings before leaving for my orientation. Pakistan got bowled out for less then 100 on what was supposedly an under prepaired pitch, don't know what happened after that or how we bowled our selves, Nathan Bracken took a lot of wickets for Australia A. Can any one find me a link to the score card please, I'm lazy and tired my self, I'd appreciate it. Thanks in advance. |
