Sorry, I think both Zainub and I misunderstood you - we thought Sami and Butt were playing Australia A today.

What you seem to be saying is that they are both playing in the Kallis benefit match today - which would mean that Z's earlier comment about Sami & Butt missing the next A-team game, was probably correct.

Z - those private news reports are not that bad after all

Ooops, since the A team match starts only tomorrow, I thought it was obvious which match I was talking about. Anyway, yes, was talking about the benefit match.

M - I suppose they aren't THAT bad, but they still aren't 100% reliable.

Next bit of breaking news from same private news agency:
Yousuf Youhanna and his wife might have converted, his new name might be Mohammad Yousuf

Smile

a) who cares what his name is - as long as his new/old/very old name is clearly written on the team sheet..

b) will this make him cover drive any better?

2nd match

Scorecard at the end of first day of the second match:

The absence of Sami; Umar Gul and Shahid Nazir is acutely reflected.

It has. I'm actually very annoyed. Why should some one preffer playing for their country over playing in some meaningless exhibition match? Sami and Butt should have turned down the offer to play in Jack Kallis' benefit match.

In an ideal situation, Butt and Sami should not even be playing for the A team so I have nothing against them playing for that benefit match. They could be meaningless, but can help lift the profile of Pakistani players in other countries. We already got a rude awakening regarding how our players are viewed when Inzi failed to make it to the Super Series, whereas I'm sure for Pakistani fans it was a certainty. So I say let these guys go and perform wherever possible and show what they are capable of, as long as it doesn't hamper their national duties.

Also, yesterday Butt was batting alongside Lara and Sami was bowling for the same side as Alan Donald, how else could they have done that?
