chris gayle wants to give up captaincy??

As if the decline of WI in world cricket wasn't a handful for WICB to deal with, now the whole chris gayle issue and indirectly players vs board battle resurfaces yet again. I think nobody in the team wants to deal with the messy state of affairs WI cricket finds itself in. It was Chanderpaul and Sarwan before and now Gayle wants to bail out too. As Tony Greig too felt, I thought Allen Stanford's entry into WI cricket will give it the necessary boost, but WICB and the players are still at war, not much has changed.

I think they've given it all a try, involved former players, brought in cricket administrators, they now have more influx of cash(thanks to stanford) but nothing seems to work. Wonder what really is the magic formula for reviving the sport in WI which produced some of the finest cricketers in the past. What a shame that the frequent skirmishes between the players and the board are making the situation even worse!!!

I think what is needed is a new set up in west indies they only play a hand full of 4 day games, so they do not have the opperuntiy to learn the nessercary skills needed to be a strong test unit. Futhermore the cash injection from Stanford will do their test team no favours because he finds test cricket "boring, this will mean that in the long term money will be pumped into the one day competitions to please the man with the money thus producing west indian players geared towards one day cricket. And batsman, especially, which techquies are fromed from one day cricket do not often provide strong test cricketers.

West indies may have just sold their sold to the devil.
You started off well but your second sentence doesn't make any sense.

It is not grounded in reality.
