I'm surprised it's taking the WICB so long to see there is some problem, with that kind of expendature on a coaching staff there will always be concerns if the team doesn't start performing. However King can only work with what he has and what he has is a set of players that are in mixed form. A batting unit that rarely fires, a bowling unit that only ever has one or two bowlers going at less than 5 an over.

The West Indies Players Association (WIPA) have confirmed receiving complaints from members of the West Indies team that toured Australia last year that they are yet to receive the sponsorship money owed them for performances in the series.......

....He said that "regrets" have been expressed, accompanied by "assurances" and it was now for the actual payments to be made to the players. A sum in the region of about US$140,000 is involved.
Questioned about the current controversy also over the annual million dollar salary being paid to Australian coach Bennett King when test players cannot be paid on time money due them for the 2005 tour to Australia

Money to be Paid

BBC link here. The WICB have announced they can pay the owed sponsorship money to the players, this is very good news after everything that has gone on in the past year.
