Dwayne Bravo

Is it too early to mention him as being in the same class as Flintoff or Kallis as an allrounder?

He certainly seems to be made for the big occasion and he is the gem that West Indies can build the new team around.I bet Brian Lara wishes he had played with someone of Bravo's ability for the last 10 years as i am sure the results that they have got would have been better.

How good do other people think he is/can be?

I have not seen much of Dwayne Bravo since 2004, when the West Indies toured England. The things that impressed me on that tour were his ability to bowl consistently in the right areas, with the knack of breaking partnerships, and his determination with the bat. He wanted to stay at the crease, and was quite willing to take some stick and give it back, as he showed when Flintoff made a few (unwise) comments questioning Bravo's ability to remain in test cricket for more than 3 years.

Bravo seems to have a natural appetite to learn and develop in the game, and he seems to be getting the results that his attitude and talent merit. As to whether he can reach the level of Kallis and Flintoff ... that's asking a lot, and I wouldn't bet my life on it, but neither would I rule it out. Talent + a lot of hard work can go a long way. The West Indies have been crying out for a guy like Bravo for a long time. However, one player isn't the answer, and they will need his example to inspire 4-5 other Dwayne Bravos before the WI can become real challengers to the top test teams.

Dwayne bravo can be a better all rounder than kapel dev maybe be the first to 500 wkts and 5000 runs he is young and has alot cricket to go in his life.

And the recent indian series he was brilliant the selectors should keep on playing him he is brilliant.

He has bags of ability, and I've often wished that Middx had signed him up as an overseas player - especially this year!

Kent are already interested in signing him for the rest of the season.

A good choice in looking for a like-for-like replacement of one of their South African all rounders.

As I said in the County Championship thread in the England forum. Tough luck TTFC, although looks as though you need someone to steady the sinking ship!

??? What kind of record? Kent's record in the last four years is (earliest first) 3rd, 4th, 2nd and 5th. Surely the team Bravo would like to sign for is a balanced and consistant side, who are perenially pushing for honours?

Not at the moment IMO - but he is a fine player who will get even better, I think playing county cricket wil do heaps for him.

Yes that's true, he makes batsmen play, but as for a great star - not that sure.
