Only a one year contract so it looks like Wavell hasn't completely given up on a long overdue international recall with a new coach in place who one assumes (despite the similarity's in their batting style and level of ability) isn't completely blind to Ganga's total lack of ability.

(Another good piece of business for Derbyshire though and they are starting to look the dark horses for promotion next season)

Well, Hinds isn't great, but he is the best West Indian opener after Chris Gayle. Scored Test centuries against Pakistan, India and South Africa, and of his five ODI centuries, three of them have come against Australia. Also a very handy medium-pacer. All in all, far more deserving of a place in the Test and ODI side than the likes of Ganga and Smith.
