Question Chanderpaul

what do people think of chanderpaul? he is my favourite windies player for sure and when windies toured england he was the only one to do do consistently well. he is a really good player in my opinion and hopefully will stay in the team for a long while to come

Chanderpaul is a class player - would walk into many world test sides. Has an unorthodox technique but it works for him, and as you say he has been in fab form of late. One friend of mine thinks he should have been made captain instead of Lara.

He is indeed a very good player, somewhat underdone because the team lacked a good bowling attack, and the Windies have been under the hammer a lot. However I do beleive they are starting to come right, and it should be cue for Chanderpaul to start shining.

indeed, i think west indies are finally coming out off that 'rebuilding phase' and are starting to 'turn the corner' hope so, this should relieve pressure from chanderpaul and help him to aleviate his game somewhat (i hope anyway)

I really hope so, for a team with so much potential, its frustrating to watch them struggle.

Its interesting on other forums, going into the vb series, how little people rate the west indies. even after the natwest series and winning the ICC trophy. they are a good oDI unit and now need to sort out their tests

I never thought they were that bad, they just lacked bowlers. Their horrible run last year came down to having pedestrian bowlers, but there was still plenty of class in their batting. Potentially than can pull off a few surprises in the coming weeks, and i hope they do.

They still lack bowlers from what I can see. Merv Dillon looked the only threat on Aussie pitches. They should have had Tino Best out there.

Chanderpaul is a vital player for Windies btw. A consistent and gutsy performer who often pulls them out of a hole. He makes an excellent foil for Lara.
