Yeah, He and Tom Plant are looking good as two young openning batsmen. Jacqus had a good season over in the UK but has generaly failed to impress over here. However he just recently scored 217 against SA.

It's probebly slightly early to revise a team and so I wont but here are some names you should probebly look out for.

Dominic Thornley: Well Unlike the ECB site I cant see him playing in the ashes however it does seem as though he has matured as a batsmen. Some great innings this year not least the 261*. He can bowl too (although not very well) which may give him an advantage in the ODI area.
http://aus.cricinfo.com/link_to_data...Y_DJ_02007447/

Phil Jaques: We will have to hope that he dosent turn out to be another Ian Harvey- Great in England but innconsistant in Aus. His batting averge is just a tad under 50. Just recently scored 217 and has a high score of 243 with 10 first class hundreds and 16 50+ scores he is somebody to keep an eye on. Somewhat underrated over here.
http://aus.cricinfo.com/link_to_data...S_PA_02010538/

Chris Hartley: Has only played 5 first class matches but scored 103 on debut. He is a WK/Batsmen who is currently straggling behind Wade Secombe for the Queensland keeping position.
http://aus.cricinfo.com/link_to_data...Y_CD_02010124/

Ben Cameron: Young and yet to get to the 100 mark having scored 3 50+ scores after 6 matches. Cameron is another to watch out for.
http://aus.cricinfo.com/link_to_data...N_BP_02012291/

Callum Ferguson: Considerd to be one of the best young batsmen in Australia Ferguson has only played 4 pura cup games but already has a ton and a 50 to his name.
http://aus.cricinfo.com/link_to_data...N_CJ_02026889/

Adam Crosthwaite: Call me bias but I reakon that this guy is the best glovemen in Australia. His batting is good too. He's only playing ING cup at the momment and looks nervous with the bat but somebody to keep an eye on.
http://aus.cricinfo.com/link_to_data...E_AJ_02036365/

Luke Ronchi: Not exactly you're cricket pin-up boy but a talented batsmen and wicketkeeper. Bennet King rates him very highly.

Come on Beny.. we know you guys have batsmen coming ot of your ears that would walk into any other Test side... it's the young bowlers we are interested in.

I appreciate it's a tougher proposition singling out young bowlers as Test prospects.. not least because they can look **** at 25 and be sensational at 27 or 29... but a list like the one you've just produced of a few possibles would be good.

OK.

We'll start with some guys you already know of.

Shaun Tait: A fantastic prospect for Australia. Suffered in England but has thrived in Australia. His action is reminiscent of Thomo and he has the speed to match. Very difficult to face and highly rated by both batsmen and the selectors. Bowled well and was rewarded with some high profile wickets against Indian side when he bowled for Australia A.
http://aus.cricinfo.com/link_to_data...T_SW_02017780/

Mark Cleary: A good alround bowler if nothing to rave about. Fast and accurate he's a good prospect for Austalia. He opend for Aus A against India last year and was treated with respect.
http://aus.cricinfo.com/link_to_data...Y_MF_02046156/

Paul Rofe: Accurate and misely but needs more penetration and perhaps some more experiance.
http://aus.cricinfo.com/link_to_data...E_PC_02009252/

Justin Coetzee: Has never played for his WA first XI yet. However tore through the Pakistan team in the recent practice match. Interestingly he was born in South Africa.
http://aus.cricinfo.com/link_to_data...E_JP_02046409/

Luke Butterworth: Unsure about him but something tells me that with some experiance he may be worth watching out for. Has only played 9 ING cup matches so far.
http://aus.cricinfo.com/link_to_data...H_LR_02046226/

Brett Greeves: Another one who is yet to gain experiance but looks to very talented. Caught my eye with a fantastic spell of bowling about a month ago.
http://aus.cricinfo.com/link_to_data...ES_B_02012402/

Mathew Inness: A higly rated bowler with a good average and stats. Has played County Cricket. Misely and deffinetly somebody to watch out for.

Australia A squad
Brad Haddin (capt), Michael Hussey, Nathan Hauritz, James Hopes, Brad Hodge, David Hussey, Brett Lee, Michael Lewis, Marcus North, Shaun Tait, Dominic Thornely, Cameron White, Damien Wright.

Quote:
Brett Lee has been included in the 13-man Australia A squad which will take on West Indies and Pakistan in warm-up games. The A side will play one-day games against West Indies at Hobart on January 8 and 9, while they will take on Pakistan in a one-dayer at Adelaide on January 12, and then in a Twenty20 game at the same venue the next day.

AUS A side

I agree with Zainzub in saying that Dave Hussey should play. Like a few before me, Mike Hussey has been removed.

A SQUAD

Marcus North (WA)
Brad Haddin (NSW)
Brad Hodge (VIC)
Michael Dighton (TAS)
David Hussey (VIC)
James Hopes (QLD)
Dominic Thornely (NSW)
Cameron White (VIC)
Nathan Bracken (NSW)
Brad Williams (WA)
Shaun Tait (SA)

RESERVES: Damien Wright
Travis Birt
Mark Cosgrove
Micky Lewis

I think Rogers and Crosthwaite can consider themselves unlucky to miss the 15

Hi Paoli69,

Welcome to the Board.

All selections must follow a set of rules.

You might want to PM Admin for a full set but generaly the WAT A team is a team of younger up and coming players who have not made it into the Test side yet.

Out of you're current squad North, Hodge, Dighton, Williams, Lewis , do not adhere to this critieria.

I havent seen all that much of James Hopes... I'll have to check him out.

The two main criteria are less than 30 years old, and less than six Tests. Admin can of course provide more details.

As it's about half way through the year I'll post a new 'Provisinal side' and hopefully with some more Aussies around we can have a good debate about it.

David Dawson
Callum Ferguson
David Hussy
Phil Jaques
Domonic Thornely
Cammeron White
Mark Cleary
Shaun Tait
Nathan Bracken
Brett Greeves
