Take 2

Ok...i'm learning the ropes, thanks for that!!

Travis Birt
Mark Cosgrove
David Hussey
Chris Rogers
Dominic Thornely
James Hopes
Adam Crosthwaite
Cameron White
Shaun Tait
Nathan Bracken
Mark Cleary

Another one who I'd consider, on proven international form, although he cannot play for 4 more years for Australia, is Sean Ervine...An ODI century and vast improvement could see him one day don the more prestigious Baggy Green

LOL.. Dont worry.

Interesting team...

Travis Birt: Never really considered him to be a top class player. Certinly has talent, though Its taking a while to show it's self

Mark Cosgrove: Fantastic Batsmen however his weight is a problem although I was surprised to see recently that he's lost quite a bit.

David Hussey: No-Brainer

Chris Rogers: A bit like Birt

Dominic Thornely: Becoming a real prospect. Wouldent be surprised to see him in the ODI squad sometime soon.

James Hopes: Never seen him play

Adam Crosthwaite: Best Keeper I've seen in years and a decent batsmen too. Still a bit inexperienced though

Cameron White: Agreed. Even if only for his batting. Probebly the closest thing Aus has to an Allrounder.

Shaun Tait: No-BrainerI'd like to see a bit more variaty in his bowling though

Nathan Bracken: Agreed.

Mark Cleary: A respectable choice.

Don't know about Ervine... Thats a preety contentios issue.

The first time I saw Cosgrove, I thought their were 2 Darren Lehmann's for SA. Cosgrove's only weakness is that he tends to rely on boundaries too much.

Well played by Aus A after being on the ropes at 3/25. Absolutely brilliant stuff from Dave Hussey who has cemented his spot as a contender to play for Australia this summer with brilliant form. Cameron White showed class with the bat with a lovely 61 and showed that he can bat as well as bowl.

From the Windies point of view, Dwayne Bravo and Ian Bradshaw were the best, with the part timers costing them valuable runs. With M Nicholas talking about Australia getting to 175 and that being a very defendable total, I assume they're in an unlosable situation defending 263.

Yep...Today was really the first time I realised how vital Lara actually was to the West Indian set up. Without him they'd have been gone. Browne and Bradshaw aren't gonna get you the runs all the time.

Hopes yes. Phil Jacques a no from me. Seems to fire in England but not in Australia. Hussey no brainer. Watson obviously. Thornely 50-50. Cosgrove has potential, but seems to look for boundaries too much. Crosthwaite???There is Brad Haddin. C White yes. Tait yes but the excitement of last year is disappearing. Bracken yep. Cleary undecided, even though i chose him in my provisional squad.

My team

Michael Hussey
Mark Cosgrove
David Hussey
Andrew Symonds---29 and two tests
Shane Watson
James Hopes
Brad Haddin
Cameron White
Shaun Tait
Nathan Bracken
Damien Wright.

Not Bad, a few experienced campaigners, and seeing as Brad Hodge is too old by 10 or 11 days, we also lost a quite good one.

Phil Jauqes/ ....
Mark Cosgrove
David Hussey
Shane Watson
Domonic Thornely/ Andrew Symonds
James Hopes
Brad Haddin/ Adam Crothswaite
Cameron White
Shaun Tait
Nathan Bracken
Mark Cleary/ Damian Wright

The Highlighted places are in doubt.

Michael Hussey- Too Old
Andrew Symonds---29 and two tests... Only just... I thnk we'll leave him out for some younger player.
Damien Wright... age again... not old enough to be officaly left out but not really a 'young gun' either.

Tait has been bowling well this year and Cleary is probebly the next best youngster. Jacques made 200 this year in Australia and has an average of 50 in first class cricket so I think he deserves his spot especialy ahead of Symonds.
Crothswaite is a bit of a gamble but I still rate him as the best keeper in Australia at the momment and a decent bat, even though he is still very young. The point of this team is to find young talent after all.
