Cosgrove, we've agreed on but could be a dubious one. Thornely ahead of Symonds. Cleary ahead of Wright.

Haddin and Crosthwaite----You could go for the experience of Haddin, 4 ODI's for Australia, so many AUS A games and so many first class games--or Crosthwaite---No games for Australia, No first class games, about 6 or 7 List-A Limited Over Games but one of the best keepers seen in a while..

I'll have a think about it. Anyway, I'm off to the charity match now.

I'll give Jaques a miss.

First thought is Chris Rogers, but there is also your Shaun Marsh's (talent to burn, average to despise), Travis Birt (one big score, nice average, although Beny thinks he's bogus!!), and quite frankly, there isn't enough young first-class talent.

That is why the 29 year old Mike Hussey is high upon the agenda.

Callum Ferguson? in exchange for Jauques?

Birt has only played 3 first class matches and is not a regular member of the Tassie team yet. His high score was against a SA team that is copping a hammering this year and his average is weak at just over 22. In other words.. Not yet.

Marsh Too has failed to really stand up in his 16 matches with inconsitant run scoring at the momment.

Rodgers is a respectable choice but is not an oppener and won't challenge the others for middle order slots.

Last time I checked Birty's average was over 35 in the List A arena.

The only time Shaun Marsh i saw Shaun Marsh play well was in the 2004 New Years Day game vs. Zimbabwe, when Australia A decided to play youngsters only.

List A is ODD. We're assuming this squad is going to play a test match.

Moss is too old.

Ok lets get a short list for this oppening slot.

Phil Jaques: http://aus.cricinfo.com/link_to_data...S_PA_02010538/

Shaun Marsh: http://aus.cricinfo.com/link_to_data...H_SE_02010129/

Callum Fergouson: http://aus.cricinfo.com/link_to_data...N_CJ_02026889/

James Hopes: http://aus.cricinfo.com/link_to_data...S_JR_02009235/

David Dawson: http://aus.cricinfo.com/link_to_data...N_DG_02010000/

Out of that list Jaques is the clear proformer. Make you're pick.
