WAT Australia A 2004

M. Hussy
C. Ferguson
B. Hodge
D. Hussy
S. Watson
B. Haddin
C. White
B. Williams
M. Cleary
N. Bracken
S. Tait

Ferguson is not noted as an oppener but is deserving as a spot, mainly because he is one of the best young batsmen in Aus and has the sort of game that could make him an oppener.

I'm starting this thread sepretly from the 'Aus young guns thread', so that people know what I'm on about.

An new Inclusion

This guy has only played 2 pura cup matches (test) but already is showing to be a talent to watch out for. M.Hussy is a guy who most of you know about and who is coming up on the magical 30 soon so I will remove him.

I know that this is a little early to be changing the team but I have done a bit of reserch and decided to change a few of the (older players).

Paul Rofe is a young bowler who will get better with age. He is amazingly accurete however needs a bit more wicket taking ability before he is test class.

I now rate Thornly but he aint playing the ashes (sorry mike).

M. Dawson (tas)
C. Ferguson (sa)
D. Hussy (vic)
S. Watson (qu)
D. Thornly (nsw)
B. Haddin (nsw)
C. White (vic)
P. Rofe (sa)
M. Cleary (sa)
N. Bracken (nsw)
S. Tait (sa)

David Hussey must be very close to being considered , I dont think there would be much between him or Katich

Hussy is coming in at number 3.

At any other Time I would have named White as captain however the Vic's are in trouble at the momment so I'm questioning how he will handle this.

I spose Haddin who is leading a very talented yet inexperianced NSW team very well.

Katich is ineligable due to having played more than 5 tests.

Beny, we are scheduled to play a 20 20 game against Aus A on Jan 13, considering 20 20 is a slightly different version of the game, if you were to select a team for that game, how much, if at all, would it differ from this WAT Aus A side you have selected?

I'd keep the same team. Possibly without Tait and with Adam Croswaite- He's a new player on the scene and is struggling with the bat but that is mainly due to nerves- instead of Haddin. Croswaite a better keeper an 'inventive' batsmen who I rate as somebody to look out for. I have been really impressed by his outstanding Keeping.

Well I've just had a look at the scheduale and it seems that the under 19 state championships are being played in Victoria this year.

There is a NSW vs Tas game close by so I might check in on that.

I'm glad Bracken is in the side. Nice figures in the recent match against Sth Aust:

Code:
Bowling O M R W

Bracken 7 5 4 7
