WAT India A 2005

I didn't think it would be fair to not let one of the best sides in international cricket not have an A team. I am sure imaginarydiva, vvvrulz, Nikhil and many many others would be happy to add their two cents worth to this.

I'll kick it off with a preliminary list....remember, mine is just a list of players i think are good because I don't follow Indian cricket and have seen briefly on the international scene

Rohan Gavaskar
Dinesh Mongia
Barrington Rowland
Sarandeep Singh
Sridharan Sriram
Hemang Badani
Lakshmipathy Balaji
Harvinder Singh
Yuvraj Singh (note he is about to play his seventh test in all likelihood)

Haven't you got a fairly tasty young quick bowler coming up thru' the ranks?

And who the hell is Barrington Rowland?

Barrington Rowland sounds like a 19th century Indian i must admit..

Well I have never heard of him but he has a decent average.

My shortlist includes the likes of:

Badani
Balaji
Sriram
Sodhi
D.Mongia
Gavaskar
Wasim Jaffer
Ramesh Powar
S.Ramesh (who I think has been somewhat sorely ignored lately)

The likes of Balaji, Badani and Power have the goods to make the first XI ODI team i beleive, and its disappointing to see Sodhi being picked and dropped so suddenly, he looked a good cricketer too.

I think he has played over 5 tests but Shivshunder Das....whatever happened to him...........remembering the players must be under 30 and played 6 tests or less
