Richard Sims
Doug Marillier
Keith Dabengwa
Gary Brent
Prosper Utseya
Alester Maregwede
Which would make the team look like

1. Neil Ferreira
2. Barney Rogers
3. Greg Strydom
4. Empty
5. Sean Williams
6. Sean Ervine
7. Empty, but we need a keeper. Alester Maregwede
8. Ed Rainsford
9. Tawanda Mupariwa
10. Empty
11. Graeme Cremer

Those eligible for the empty batting spot: Doug Marillier, Richard Sims, Charles Coventry, Craig Ervine, Terrence Duffin, Tinashe Hove, Vusi Sibanda, Justice Chibbhaba, Donald Samunderu

Those eligible for the bowling spot: Campbell Macmillan, Peter Englebrecht, Ian Nicolson, Gary Brent (who I'm not too keen on, approaching the magical 30), Keith Dabengwa, Chris Mpofu, Waddington Mwayenga, Gerald Penford.

I'm hoping to get teams from vvvrulz and Teatime Fat Cat and imaginarydiva if she returns.

Now I don't want to get anyone's back up here - but this comes across as a very 'white' Zimbabwean team, considering it's supposed to be the best of the up and coming prospects. I would have at least expected Sibanda and Utseya to make it.

Well TTFC, to say it didn't cross my mind is a blatant lie....

The truth however, is that, judged by, us on a unanimous decision, is the best up and coming Zimbo side...

All 3 of us have to confer if we wish to make changes.

Official WAT Zimbabwe A Team 2005

After much consideration with fellow members, we have made one change. Prosper Utseya in for Graeme Cremer, as Cremer is a regular with the test team. Sibanda's form doesn't justify a spot in mine and Zainub's opinion. Any complaints shall be made via PM.

Final Team:

1. Barney Rogers
2. Neil Ferreira (Vice-Captain)
3. Greg Strydom
4. Richard Sims
5. Sean Ervine (Captain)
6. Douglas Marillier
7. Alester Maregwede (Wicketkeeper)
8. Ed Rainsford
9. Tawanda Mupariwa
10. Gary Brent

I like the look of this team.

Well done to you Paoli by the way. Had it not been of your persuation, no one would have ever given a thought to selecting a Zim A side. Good work!

Zimbabwe A hosting Pakistan A

Well, Zimbabwe A are hosting Pakistan A just after we've done an A team. The players in the WAT team are in bold.

Stuart Carlisle has been named captain of Zimbabwe A for the visit of their Pakistan counterparts. The selectors have named a 15-man squad for the four-day matches and a 14-man squad of the one-day games that follow.
The squads include a number of Zimbabwean Test players including Brendan Taylor and Stuart Matsikenyeri, who both struggled against South Africa, and are given an opportunity to hone their skills. Graeme Cremer, the legspinner who came in for some fierce punishment at the hands of Jacques Kallis, will also face the less daunting prospect of Pakistan's second string.

Taylor will share the wicketkeeping duties with Charles Coventry after Tatenda Taibu was not considered for selection to allow him a rest. Macsood Ebrahim, the convenor of selectors, said: "We are going to select the teams on a rotational basis because we want each player in either squad to play at least one game."

The tour runs from May 6-23 with two four-day games at the CFX Academy and Harare, followed by three one-day matches.

Four-Day squad Stuart Carlisle (capt), Blessing Mahwire, Brendan Taylor, Mark Vermeulen, Stuart Matsikenyeri, Sean Williams, Chamunorwa Chibhabha, Tawanda Mupariwa, Graeme Cremer, Allan Mwayenga, Trevor Gripper, Neil Ferreira, Keith Dabengwa, Anthony Ireland, Charles Coventry.

One-Day squad Stuart Carlisle (capt), Blessing Mahwire, Keith Dabengwa, Stuart Matsikenyeri, Brendan Taylor, Mark Vermeulen, Douglas Marillier, Chamunorwa Chibhabha, Sean Williams, Tawanda Mupariwa, Anthony Ireland, Ian Nicholson, Gavin Ewing, Charles Coventry.

Three isn't bad considering three aren't in the country at present. The only other players eligible from there are as follows. The ones that we're mentioned by the selection panel are in bold.

Dabengwa
Chibhabha
Williams
Coventry
Ewing
Ireland
Nicholson
Allan Mwayenga

I guess we didn't do too badly. I reckon our team would give this team a shake.

Geez! How could I say no? Well if it isnt too late (or even if its too late) i'd still like to give my opinion.Well here's my side:

Stuart Carlisle (captain)
Barney Rogers
Sean Ervine (In my opinion he's the IDEAL number 3 spot holder for Zimbabwe. If only he'd come back)
Brandon Taylor
Stuart Matsikinyeri
Mark Vermuelen
Douggy Marllier
Alester Maregwede
Garry Ewing
Graeme Cremer
Hondo

As you might have obeserved,I havent included people like Ray Price and a few others, but thats because they are too good to be wasted in an A-Team,but then again I included Carlisle,Ervine,Marillier and Hondo because without them the team would lose even to my brother's toddlers team.
