| WAT England A 2005 This thread is to select the WAT England A 2005. If you wish to participate as a selector please submit your 30 man provisional squad from the Division One and Division Two qualifiers. The qualifying criteria is: 1. Under 30 years of age 2. Played no more than 5 Test matches 3. Is a regular member of a County team ie minimum 8 matches played in Frizzell County Championship this year. Notable omissions from last year include Kevin Pieterson and Ian Bell who are current regulars in the National teams. Gary Keedy and Johnathon Lewis who are 30+. Paul Franks, Sajid Mahmood and Mark Wagh missed most of the season so didn't play the minimum 8 matches required to qualify. Mark had a recurring knee injury that required surgery and long term recouperation. Franks only played 3 matches and Mahmood played 5 matches. Once you have posted your provisional squad please PM me your final XI. In your PM give me the names of your two key players which must be included in the final WAT England A team. These key players will be automatic selections to form the core of the team. Other positions will be filled by negotiation to balance the team. Once I have everyone's final XI and two key players I will post them on this thread and then we can discuss the balance of the team to arrive at the final WAT XI.

| Blimey! 3 people voting for James Middlebrook in their squad! You've obviously never seen him play!! I was also wondering if someone could provide the comparative stats for the One Day league as well as the 4 day league info provided. Although the team shouldn't be selected on the basis of OD stats, it might help differentiate between two players with similar 4 day stats - i.e it would show who would bat better in a short timed run chase, or who would bowl better defending small targets. Any volunteers? |
