I have marked with an asterisk those players I think have performed well in the 2005-06 season. I will post my final team as soon as I can. This season many good performers from last season had poor seasons. The batsmen are particularly inconsistent and the low averages of many contrast with the good averages of many bowlers. I don't understand this because the flat pitches in Pakistan should favour the batsmen but the stats show that the bowlers are on top right now. The other problem I found is that there are far too many guys under 25 playing FC cricket. I could hardly find a player over 30 playing in the first-class comps. My final team will have quite a few guys aged 20 or 19 because the older guys didn't perform well this season. Pakistan have a lot of players under 30 who already have played more than 5 Test matches so the WAT Pakistan A team will have a much younger average age than WAT England A, for example. As a result, the form of these players is going to be up and down each year. I'll be surprised if the same players get selected two years running.

Can somebody explain the difference between the Quaid-e-Azam Trophy and the ABN-AMRO Patrons Trophy. One comp is held after the other. Both are first-class fixtures. Some players play in both comps while other play in one or the other. Some players do really well in one comp and do badly in the other. I'm totally confused. Can someone clarify this, please?

If the Under-19 World Cup is any indication, the bowlers could be on top because of the prodigous swing that they can get in those conditions.
