Bangladesh team gets in trouble most often because of our batsmen's, especially Bashar, Ashraful, and Aftab's, tendency to play too many shots. The team needs more players like Rajin Saleh who are willing to grind out runs. So, a flashy batsman like Al Shahariar, naturally, won't be considered for the national team if the need arises for a replacement. That's why I think a more sedate batsman like Sarkar has better chance to be selected. However, I agree with Admin that Sarkar should be given the chance to play atleast one more season in the domestic circuit to figure out his problems thoroughly.

For the people, who are wondering why I am so hyped up about some 19/20 years old cricketers, here is what our Aussie HP manager has to say-

Quote:
For De Winter, who has been in Bangladesh for 10 months, it is about potential. "When I got here, I was surprised by the players," he said. "The players at the same age, the boys, here are more talented than Australian boys but they just don't have the systems in place to develop those skills. The talent pool here is quite large with the population and while their strength and fitness is not like boys in Australia, they can bowl, bat and field better."

Well,in the qualifiers list, under the st(stumpings) it says that he has performed some.So seeing that he is a keeper and has a good a average he should be selected.

Looks like Rifat can't find qualified older players for the team either

I am not changing my first team, but since the Admin is dead set to have a team of older players, here is a combination that may meet his requirment-

Al Sahariar (28 yrs)- RHB
Nazimuddin (20 yrs)- RHB
Tushar Imran (22 yrs)- RHB, part time OB
Faisal Hossain (27 yrs)- LHB
Ehsanul Haque (26 yrs)- RHB, part time RM
Manjural Islam Rana (22 yrs)- LHB, SLA
Golam Mabud (21 yrs)- WK, RHB
Abdur Razzak (24 yrs)- SLA
Tapash Baisya (23 yrs)- RFM
Hasibul Hossain (29 yrs)- RFM
Shafaq Al Zabir (20 yrs)- LMF

All here are experienced campaigners in the domestic front.

Hi Rifat, check out this cricinfo link for the bowling statistics:

Best Bowling: Average.

Best Bowling: Most wickets

Best Bowling: Economy

Best Bowling: Strike Rate

I hope this helps you with your choices, but be sure to cross reference it with admin's original list of A-Team qualifiers.
