Bangladesh name A squad for Zimbabwe

Tushar Imran (capt), Mushfiqur Rahim, Alok Kapali, Nafees Iqbal Khan, Nazmus Sadat, Mehrab Hossain, Shakib Al Hasan, Forhad Reza, Abdur Razzak Raj, Enamul Haque, Mahmud Ullah Riad, Tapash Baishya, Hasibul Hossain, Shafaq Al Jabir, Mahbubul Alam

The national side is also touring Kenya and Zimbabwe in July-August. After returning from Zimbabwe, the A team players will get a week's break to join the national side. Therefore, some A team players have also been selected in the 19-member preliminary squad.

SQUAD
Habibul Bashar, Shahriar Nafees, Javed Omar, Aftab Ahmed, Mohammad Ashraful, Rajin Saleh, Tushar Imran, Mohammad Rafique, Abdur Razzak, Manjarul Islam, Khaled Mashud, Mushfiqur Rahim, Alok Kapali, Forhad Reza, Sakib Al Hasan, Mashrafee Bin Mortuza, Syed Rasel, Shahadat Hossain and Tapash Baisya.

Opener Nafees Iqbal and left-arm spinner Enamul Haque were the two notable absentees on the list as the Tigers are going to play only one-day games against the two African countries.

Adamberry has included:
7. Manjural Islam Rana
8. Yasin Arafat

at the expense of:

5. Nasiruddin Faruque
9. Abdur Razzak

I agree that Yasin Arafat is a good prospect for the future but he's only 18 and that is extremely young for a spinner. Abdur Razzak has age and experience on his side and is a better bat. Razzak's first-class average is slightly worse than Arafat's but that would be due to more A matches played. However, Razzak's List A average is far superior to Arafat's.

To strengthen the batting, Nasiruddin Faruque and Abdur Razzak is a better option. The only position which is not settled is the batting all-rounder. Manjural Islam Rana is a similar bowler to Abdur Razzak so has to be excluded. That leaves Farhad Hossain RA-OB, Mahmudullah RA-MF as the other two options. Mahmudullah has some A team experience so is my preferred option.

That also matches Vrock's revised team:

1. Nazmus Sadat - (p/t SLA)
2. Shahriar Nafees
3. Faisal Hossain
4. Ehsanul Haque - (p/t RA-OB)
5. Nasiruddin Faruque
6. Mahmudullah - (RA - FM)
7. Saghir Hossain+
8. Mushfiqur Rahman (RA - FM)
9. Abdur Razzak (SLA)
10. Shafaq Al Zabir (LA - MF)
11. Hasibul Hossain (RA - FM)

Final Team:

1. Nazmus Sadat (6)*
2. Shahriar Nafees (1)*
3. Nasiruddin Faruque (5)*
4. Ehsanul Haque (7)***
5. Faisal Hossain (6)*
6. Mahmudullah - (RA - FM)
7. Saghir Hossain + (3)
8. Mushfiqur Rahman (3)* RA-FM(2)
9. Abdur Razzak (2)* SLA
10. Shafaq Al Zabir (4) LA-MF (1)
11. Hasibul Hossain (6)** RFM (1)

I would agree with that choice Admin, on the basis of experience and team balance. If we included Farhad Hossain instead of Mahmudullah, we would end up with too many spinners in the side and not enough seam options. Vrock's revised team looks to be "on the money" as it stands.
