Provisional side:

Key players:

adamberry: Sewnarine Chattergoon, Andrew Richardson
Karthik: Jerome Taylor, Carlton Baugh
Vrock: Narsingh Deonarine, Dave Mohammed
Wanderer: Dave Mohammed, Sylvester Joseph

Provisional lineup:
(numbers indicate number of selections; stars the number of key player votes)

1. N. Deonarine (4)* (OB)
2. S. Chattergoon (4)* (LBG)
3. D. Mohammed (3)** (SLC)
4. S. Joseph (2)*
5. D. Richards (4)
6. R. Morton (2)
7. C. Baugh (3)* +
8. [undecided]
9. R. Kelly (4) (RFM)
10. A. Richardson (2)* (RFM)
11. J. Taylor (1)* (RF)

We have no agreement on who should occupy the number 8 spot. We have also picked quite a batting orientated squad, with only Kelly, Richardson and Taylor specialist bowlers. We should look to include at least another seamer or all-rounder in this final spot.

Dave Mohammed at number 3!

He's a spin bowler, not a top order bat!

Maybe he could fill the number 8 spot?

What a stupid little wossname I am... so if I put in Mohammed at number 8 we could put Shane Jeffers in at number 3 instead, as he was selected twice.

So to update:

1. N. Deonarine (4)* (OB)
2. S. Chattergoon (4)* (LBG)
3. S. Jeffers (2)
4. S. Joseph (2)*
5. D. Richards (4)
6. R. Morton (2)
7. C. Baugh (3)* +
8. D. Mohammed (3)** (SLC)
9. R. Kelly (4) (RFM)
10. A. Richardson (2)* (RFM)
11. J. Taylor (1)* (RF)

However, that still leaves us with only three in the pace attack!

I think we could get by with only three pace bowlers.

With a quality specialist spinner and also our all rounder being a spinner this kind of fills out the other places that can be left.

Not forgetting there are a lot of sides who do go into games with a couple of spinners and only three pace bowlers. At times I think the West Indies should do it but the selectors want to stick with pace ... another thread maybe there.

I think the side looks balanced, with the pace department having at least one genuine pace bowler this should provide enough fire power with the new ball.

In that case, we're all pretty much in agreement.

Thanks to all those who took part in selecting the side.
