Oh, well that's fair enough. I was just after an insight into your reasoning behind the choice, it's just from my memory his career has started to tail off a little from the high standards which brought him a Test cap or two.

Pettini I'd advocate the selection of: definately an England player of the future IMO.

Don't forget that Chelmsford is as much of a batter's paradise as the oval. Some would say more so as I believe Chelmsford may be a slightly smaller ground. The only flatter deck in the country has to be Taunton.

As for Pettini, I know this won't get in the way if he was called upon by the England A selectors, but I have a feeling he may have played for Italy.

And he was assisted by that Hundred in 24 balls against the joke bowling of Darren Robinson and Paul Nixon last week. Good player though. And a pretty decent wicket keeper (doesn't play in that position because Essex have James Foster, but he can keep!)
