As members of this forum we all know that not every one agrees, well no body ever reallys agrees. This is the team that I think will be selected, but I think we need one last poll that cement everything into place

Chirs Rogers
Phil Jaques
Domanic Thornely
Marcus North
Adam Voges
Shane Watson
Luke Ronchi
Mitchell Johnson
Aaron Heal
Shaun Tait
Ben Hilfenhaus

12th Man - Andrew McDonald

I also vote for Quagmire's team. A triumph of concessions on all sides leading to eventual agreement.

However, Watson should not be captain to my mind. A thoroughly unlikeable person in my opinion and a captain should at least be affable (Graeme Smith, please take note). I vote Adam Voges for captain. I think he's got a much more astute cricket brain than Watson, who often lets his mouth open before he has engaged his brain.

I hate Watson he has the worst on field performances I think that North should be captain. We dismissed the obvious Captain in White.

Exactly. Personally, I'd prefer Voges, but North is still a much better option than the self-publicising Watson.

I think North and Voges are being voted as captain's because neither have been put under pressure.

Shane Watson on the other hand has been put under pressure. International pressure.

The alternative is we bring back Cameron White as a Mike Brearly type of character and have another 100 odd posts discussing the merits and re-arguing the batting and spin bowling positions.

And has looked no better than Geraint Jones with the bat and no better than Collingwood with the ball: I really can't understand why he's even warranted a MENTION in this thread.

Does he stand a chance of ever meriting comparison with (let's not set the bar too high) Abdul Razzaq? I doubt it: far less talented as a bowler... and certainly no better with the bat.

To pick him is bad enough: let's keep the captaincy elsewhere!

Good point Rachael, infact a fair comparison would be with Ronnie Irani.

Australia have many talented players to choose from, so why do the "English" thing and pick a bits and pieces player.

Oh BTW, North for captain.
