What are the thoughts on placing a player age limit also , say under 25 yrs , I know a few will miss the cut but it will keep a throughput of talent coming through the tournament .

Ten test teams is a little too much imo, but the eight major teams would make a great tournament.

I'm heartened to listen to the interview with the England Assistant Coach, Tim Boon, who believes the England A team provides an excellent bridge between county cricket and the full international side and is "essential" to the players' development.

This years touring A squad has a few guys who have already played in the national team and now they get a chance to take a step down in class and show the selectors what they are capable of in the tough conditions in the subcontinent. This is a more experienced side than the Academy sides who have been whipped in the subcontinent previously so I expect they'll be more competitive. The team also has guys like Prior and Powell who can impress alongside Shah and Bell which is good for their development. I really like this team strucure. It looks like a WAT XI.

Hi chrisfinch, that's my preferred option, too. However, we'd have to modify the name of the tournament to allow teams that are not A teams to compete in the tournament. I'd also like to change the tournament name to include teams like Kenya, Denmark, Scotland, USA etc. All these teams are 2nd tier teams although I suspect Bangladesh and Zimbabwe wouldn't want to associate themselves with that description. If you can think of a suitable tournament name to include 2nd tier teams let me know.

The ICC are wanting to create a world cup type of thing but for tests to find out who is the ebst test cricket nation in the world. This however would take about 2 years to complete with each nation playing a home & away test within these 2 years.

Hope somethng like that could be done sometime soon. would be great to watch.

Yes, but each tournament would have to be very far apart to allow for time for the victors to atleast claim the glory for a little bit. With the A sides tournament I would just have the top 8 sides as I feel that the other teams would still be below par and this would reduce the number of games etc.
