Top End Series 2006 - A-teams quadrangular series

Well I read in the Times of India today that Cricket Australia are organising a quadrangular ODI series featuring A-teams from Australia (ofcourse!), India, Pakistan and New Zealand. Teams would also be playingTwenty-20 games. It said the series begins from July-2006. Well, we better revive the A-teams thread for these teams. I can see the one for Australia is on.

I read that in the papers here too, the news piece here said Pakistan A was also going to play a series of four day games, which is something I'd be more interested in then the four nation one-day tournament or the 20 Twenty games, good to see such tours be arranged though, they should be done on a more frequent basis.

Captain, we have A-team selection threads to do just that. You could have a look at those.

This is a great idea for a series. Congrats to whoever came up with this.

I have to say that it's a mouth-watering prospect. Just wish there was television or radio coverage for some of these matches.

Me too.. Would have been great to see these players in action. Especially since they're the "developing" players of their respective countries, just a step outside of their national teams.

Pakistan ‘A’: Misbahul Haq (captain), Bazid Khan (vc), Hasan Raza, Mohammad Hafeez, Riffatullah Mohmand, Shahid Yousuf, Mansoor Amjad, Abdul Rahman, Mohammad Salman, Mohammad Khalil, Fawad Alam, Mohammad Irshad, Wasim Khan, Akhtar Ayub. Reserves: Samiullah Niazi, Shahzad Malik, Tahir Khan.

Australian 'A' : Brad Haddin (captain), Cullen Bailey, Travis Birt, Mark Cosgrove, Daniel Cullen, Brett Dorey, Ben Hilfenhaus , Brad Hodge (vc), James Hopes, Phil Jaques, Mitchell Johnson, Chris Rogers, Shaun Tait, Shane Watson.

Some issues for New Zealand 'A'

Matthew Sinclair might miss out on the A tour, as he's not yet signed his central contract. Seems like he's considering offers from SA clubs.

Craig McMillan might not be able to captain the side either, as his contract was not renewed and he said he'll be looking for a job during the off season.
