I agree that that one-day wickets should have something in it for the bowlers. The problem is that the advantage may be with the side fielding first if the pitch flattens out later in the day. The fielding side then get the best of the bowling and batting conditions. I don't particulary want to see one-day cricket turn into a slogfest. Twenty overs of the stuff is enough.

The other problem with short boundaries is that it takes the fielders out of the game. All the fielders will be out on the boundary with little chance of getting a run-out.

No because players play so different than each other on the same pitch, unless there is a rank bad pitch, all players have an even chance when playing on the same pitch, slow - facouring pace or spin, it's how players react to any pich that matters.

If anything the ICC will want a more batsman friendly situation, leading to games lasting longer and the extra revenue that creates
