Does anyone know why Davies is playing and not keeping wicket?? Why let prior keep wicket when you are playing a far superior keeper anyway!

Prior - Moores - Sussex? I hope Moores is not going to have a say in the wicketkeeper for this summer. I'd rather have Jones back.
I can't understand why Rashid is not playing and Loudon is?
Why Kirtley was called up? There is Hogg and Footitt available. Kirtley is not in the Provisional 30. Would he be called up ahead of Broad? I thought they could only go outside the 30 before the 15 were named.

I think they changed the rules to say you could bring players in outside the named 30.

Some of the selections dont make sense. Loudon will probably never make the test team but Rashid could and as for Prior as w/k???

I don't think Loudon will even make the ODI team, sorry Warkwickshire fans.

The Torygraph reports that England are playing both 'keepers to give Rashid's back a chance to recover from his outing last week: that was presumably his first competitive cricket since the injury.

Presumably because Prior is earmarked as 1st reserve for the World Cup squad.

DSOFTM,

You may think that he will never make the ODI team, but you would be very wrong, due to the fact he has already played an ODI...

No I meant from the time he got back into the Academy. Botham and Hussain made a big fuss of his 'doosra' on commentary in the county one day games and he went to Pakistan with the Test team. I read that he didn't make that much of an impression in the nets out there. It's funny how some players get only one or two games to show their stuff and others get a much longer run.

Nooo! I didnt realise that prior was our reserve wk for the WC.

Picking Loudon is one of those "bits and pieces" picks. He's not quite good enough for a genuine batter and no where near good enough to be a bowler.

At least Rashid could be a good bowler and a good no.8. Mind, if he is being rested to protect him then i suppose we should at least applaud the management for looking after one of our better prospects

Can you ever see Nixon getting injured? Even if he did he probably wouldn't tell anyone. He looks as tough as old boots and probably will play for another 10 years.
