Chairman required

I need a volunteer to act as Chairman to select the WAT Bangladesh 2006-07 team. The National Cricket League FC season has finished and now is a good time to select the team. Three players from last year's team made the current World Cup squad: Shahriar Nafees; Mushfiqur Rahman; Abdur Razzak.

The Chairman's responsibilities include preparing and posting the list of qualifiers baseed on the WAT selection criteria. They will also ask for WAT members to participate as selectors and choose a final XI after a process of discussion. The final XI should be a balanced side with a balanced bowling attack to play a hypothetical 4-day first-class fixture. Remember, the players should be chosen with the expectation that they will one day represent Bangladesh at Test level. Some players may have already played Test matches which could be an advantage when making the selections.

Generally, players should not have played more than 5 Tests but there is an exceptantional circumstances rule that will allow players who've played more than 5 Tests and been dropped for some time to be re-considered provided they are still under 30 years old.

I declare Efaz as the Chairman for this year's WAT Bangladesh A team. Efaz participated as a selector in last year's thread so I think deserves an opportunity to step up as Chairman this year. Thanks, Acker, for your expression of interest. I hope you participate as a selector this year so we can guage your credentials to act as Chairman next year.

Efaz, please start the thread called WAT Bangladesh A 2006-07 and provide a list of qualified players and a list of players who qualify based on the exceptional circumstances rule.

The qualifiers must be aged under 30 and have played at least 5 matches in the National Cricket League FC 2006-07 season. They must not have played more than 5 Test matches.

Exceptional circumstances:

Players who've played less than 5 matches National Cricket League this season can still qualify if their season was interrupted due to international duties with either the Bangladesh A team, ODI or Test team.

Players who've played more than 5 Test matches can still qualify if they are under 30 and haven't played a Test match in at least three years. These players are only selected if they deserve a second chance based on very good domestic form.
