Ravi Bopara

Ravi Bopara's Man of the Match performance against Sri Lanka in the World Cup Super 8 match indicated he is rapidly improving as a player. If he backs up with a strong CC season this year he could be selected in the WAT England A team in October.

The way he is improving he may well do.I would hope he plays at least one test match this summer and the majority of one day games.I am impressed with his ability but even more so with his temperament.

He will be OK if England look after him.
People are already saying he should be batting up the order for whatever reason - the fact IMO is that in this early stage of his England career, he needs as little pressure putting on him as possible.

I hope he will be selected for our WAT team, that will have meant he has played some CC - and not thrust in as the saviour of the England batting.

Joyce was thrust in to the WC and he has started to fail, will he ever be really confident again?, England should have IMO rotated between Strauss and Joyce, to take some of the load of the Young Irishman's shoulders.

Fletcher had it right in Australia - when he dropped Bopara after a promising debut, I was disappointed at the time - but Fletcher was right not to rush him.
