Glad you raised that with them "Statto" I would have thought 127 runs off 73 balls opening the innings by a 22 year old may have at least brought the lad into discussions prior to his elevation to the national 20/20 squad.
I hope he is not getting overlooked because of "talented and started young syndrome" which tends to make a few of the younger players averages look a bit frail because they started in first class cricket at a much younger age than others who were not given a go until they were older and more established at grade level.

I thought we picked this team on first class performances not one day ones? If we were picking a one day side Wright would be one of the first names on everyones list.

Where would he fit into a first class team as he only has 3 50's all season and 14 wickets @ 44 is nothing special either. If he is to be counted as an all rounder he needs to improve his bowling and if he is to counted as a batsman he needs some hundreds first.

Good point there greg. I'd love to see Mustrard as keeper but IMO he hasnt done enough in the first class game to justify selection.

His one day form on the other hand has been outstanding. If England are looking for a keeper to open the batting in one day cricket then he's the man

Quite. I had initially penned him in as an automatic pick as he's been getting talked about a lot.... but when I looked his season up it seems he's got a way to go to prove his anything more than a clean-hitting biffer. He's really got to show that he's got the class to play an innings of greater refinement and class before being considered a front-runner here.

Though if he has ability to score runs at OD level, then surely in due corse he will become a regular run scorer in 4 day cricket aswell, because as every one now relises after this T20 world cup, that your best players are your best players what ever fporm of cricket and surely an A tour would be a good chance to see how well he can cope with the longer form of the game in an engalnd shirt after all i though A tours were an oppertunity to find these sort of things out, not taking people like david sales who will never play for england, also i feel it would be a waste of a place to send shah on the tour, he would not benefit as much as a younger player such as denley or goodleman , and he woudl score a sed load of runs against weak attacks witch i feel would also do no one any benefit (though shahs confidence may improve) as he has not worked for the runs and england have only seen him score good runs under pressure a hand full of times

My squad of 15 would be :

Denley
Ambrose
Mustard
Bresen
