| Nope I'm as English as they come (IE about 25% of my family are White british, 25% White European and 50% Afro Carib). That is pretty much a definition of English in my book, complete mongrels, but I was born in England and I dare anyone to accuse me of being anything other than English.
My reasons for posting on this board are that I don't like the way things are going in Zim. I don't think it should matter what colour the players (or indeed the farm owners are). The politicians should not be selecting the team, that should be simply down to who the best players are.
Unfortunately it looks like I spoke to soon when I said it looked like ZCU had backed down. The latest news is that it has all gone pear shaped again. ZCU still has two political apointees on the 4 man panel and they are the ones running things. The white players look likely to be fired and sued for breech of contract. Effectively this could be the end of cricket at any level for Zimbabwe for the immediate future.
I shudder to think what score Hayden could get against what is left of this team when Aus tour, 450? 500?
My best wishes go out to any Zimbabweans on this board (black/White or anything between), I wouldn't wish these troubles on anyone. |
