Nope I'm as English as they come (IE about 25% of my family are White british, 25% White European and 50% Afro Carib). That is pretty much a definition of English in my book, complete mongrels, but I was born in England and I dare anyone to accuse me of being anything other than English.

My reasons for posting on this board are that I don't like the way things are going in Zim. I don't think it should matter what colour the players (or indeed the farm owners are). The politicians should not be selecting the team, that should be simply down to who the best players are.

Unfortunately it looks like I spoke to soon when I said it looked like ZCU had backed down. The latest news is that it has all gone pear shaped again. ZCU still has two political apointees on the 4 man panel and they are the ones running things. The white players look likely to be fired and sued for breech of contract. Effectively this could be the end of cricket at any level for Zimbabwe for the immediate future.

I shudder to think what score Hayden could get against what is left of this team when Aus tour, 450? 500?
My best wishes go out to any Zimbabweans on this board (black/White or anything between), I wouldn't wish these troubles on anyone.

thank you - i´m of european origin (4 generations back), only a part of me is from yorkshire (one grandparent in the long line of whatever, cause i never really checked). i now have black in-laws and nephews and nieces and cousins (not typical for a white zim family but it DOES actually happen.

Hello!BD/BL
I live In Western France. Catalunya ,is that in Spain (I'm usless at geography!! )I'd echo the sentiments of Cantplaycantalk.
I think we are all a "melange" of whatevers! I live in France for marriage commitments .

Will the Zim team beat Sri Lanka in the upcoming series?
I really hope Streak carries on as a player, but I don't want him to have to back down.

"catalunya" is in N spain (and S france - perpinyan is supposedly catalan).

i hope he carries on as a player too - there is only a chance of some of these players proving themselves. i don´t really envisage even a competition with this team - i do still hope so though.

Well it's always darkest before dawn. perhaps lots of coloured children will follow cricket and the game become opened out. Perhaps the Zimbabwian set up will allow it.
Who knows. But currently I doubt it.
We shall wait and see!
