Ist ODI zim V SL

Even though Sri lanka won (congrats to them) by Duckworth Lewis, Zim looked ok on paper.
Well, a few good things came from Zimbabwe in this game
T Taibu unlucky not to get a century, looks a good player, A Maregwede and ML Nkala can hang around.
Zim need to sort out the openers, both scored ducks. A side with 4 debutants scored over 200.And they didn't get bowled out!
Bowling only Nkala was really out of his depth. But He'll learn. Perhaps the batting is better for him anyway.
Bowling O M R WHondo 7 1 34 2 (3w)Panyangara 5 1 22 1Chigumbura 5 0 32 1Nkala 6 0 34 0 (1w)Taibu 4 0 19 0 (1w) It's a bit strange that SL went beyond the needed total, but there must have been confusion as to what that was.If Zimbabwe can improve on this performance, they could push Sri Lanka. Sri lanka won by twelve runs, but it was a close call!

morning rmj

quick post b4 i go. yeah they did well - this is a typical performance of zim opening pairs for as long as i can remember and streak and taibu have come to the rescue on every occasion for the past year.

so the opening pair i no new problem - maregwede did well (hope it lasts) Nkala actually is a good bat and ghas been having a fantastic season with it in zim. he can really swing the ball and has had the habit of taking the prized wkt - but he´s always gone for runs, another ongoing problem with any zim side. Panyangara may make quick steps forward - figures look good and have done during and since the U/19 WC.

one swallow doesn´t make a summer.

but as i´ve said: i hope this swallow´s flock arrives and summer begins
