3 days in mutare - lucky b'stards!! well - india's pace bowlers didn't do much (niether zim's but ours won't be playing in the test). Ebrahim scoring a big ton. we need a bit more patience with this guy (only a bit mind, cos along with his comments on murali cames not a great record...) masakadzas second innings was good practice too but three centuries for the first three bats in the indian side seem to suggest at the absolute best - a draw!!

looks like they're leaving out mpofu for W Mwayenga (should they need another seamer)

Even Matt Hayden is a better bowling than Waddy.

Waddington Mwayenga would have to be the worst bowler Zimbabwe have ever produced and put on to the international stage. Regurlarly goes for 75+ in ODI's off his alloted 10 overs. Disappointed that Cremer didn't get a run, he is a genuine wickettaker. The Mutare game was a nice little warm up, just for the Indian batsmen to get accustomed to the trash they would be facing. Utseya aint playing, rather Dabengwa and Ewing. Dion Ebrahim now takes the role of the only batsman in the side capable of scoring a century.

As for Ebrahim being the only potential century-maker, Taibu, Streak and Masakadza have all made test centuries before, so I dont see why they couldnt do it again. Im also very confident that Taylor will, eventually, score one. |

Not a huge shock, I'm used to those ZC things occuring. Taylor and Chigumbura weren't even named in the squad for the South Africa series yet played in the first test. Ease up! I said batsman, I've no doubt that Taibu and Streak can do it, but on the batting front, I think Ebrahim is our premier batsman and is therefore the one Top four batsman capable of scoring a ton. To be succesful teams need a top four batsman to score a ton a match. As for Masakadza, jury is definitely out on him for mine. Brendan Taylor, I think an ODI century will come first. He has been in the 70's quite a few times and in the early days was our only batsman that didn't look out of place in the international arena. He may go on to score four or five tons for Zimbabwe should he stay there for his career. And Terrence Duffin as well. He and Neil Ferreira have the potential to become heavy runscorers, with the technique being a problem.

I totally agree!Plus,I think Charles Coventry definitely has the potential for big knocks.Saw flashes of big hitting instincts in him.Ive been very impressed by him.Not afraid to play his shots, quite a hard hitter of the ball....he should come good in the future. And hey,Andy Blignaut has been in the 90s as well,so im waiting for him to come up with a century.
