| Taibu into hiding http://content.cricinfo.com/zimbabwe...ry/225390.html It is often said in Zimbabwean Cricket that there is a fine line between sadness and stupidity. This is terribly sad for the game. How long until Zimbabwe get kicked out? Quote:

| I note you have put this in the Zimbabwe forum, Paoli, which is fine, but readers may also like to see this thread dealing with the same issue in the ITC forum.

| The way they are playing at the moment some countries would throw them out of that reason alon, never mind anything else.

Think you have not grasped fully the seriouness of the situation here. Yes they are playing badly, but there is no way any individual should go into hiding for fear of us life just because of comments he said about his Cricket Board. |

| Taibu has now come out of hiding according to reports. FF. I wasn't trying to imply that there was no seriousness in this, I'm sorry if I have shown a lack of compassion, it was not intended. Hopefully now Zim. can get back on the road to improving in the international scene. |

| it's nice to see the indians and SAfricans giving us a go against thier teams - very generous and only good for the cricketing lads. other than that i've been meaning to write a response about zim somewhere but i get so frustrated i end up deleting the post. basically political intrusion in societal affairs is so much an accepted part of life (i could reel off micro examples) that i don't care who's the face of zim cricket as the board ultimately serves "the party". since zanu is back in a comfort zone - with mdc having practically fallen apart - i had little fear for taibu. it was prudent of him to hide as there is always the unpredictable element in weakly governed states (at least ones where the rule of law is tenuous) but it was never likely that anything would happen. at least not as far as i was concerned. |
