Taibu Retires

http://news.bbc.co.uk/sport1/hi/cric...we/4467062.stm

Tatenda Taibu has retired from Test cricket at the age of 22!!!

This guy is a highly talented Cricketer who has been forced to give up International Cricket purely because of the actions of his own governing body. Following Streak's retirment - it ponders the qusetion who will actually be playing for Zimbabwe when the next International series comes along.

Despite the fact that he has retired I doubt that anyone at the ZCU will lose their job. Instead the situation will contiune to get worse and worse!!

The ICC will probably do nothing as only the ECB, the ACB and The governing body in New Zealand, think that this is an issue!! The others seem to think that what is going on is fine!!

Time to get real when you lose your captain at 22 to retirment, 80% because of the situation, it is time for the ICC to take it's head out of the sand. Tell the ZCU to detach itself from it's Goverments influence and act in the intrests of the Cricket players of Zimbabwe (not the pockets of the ZCU members) or be excluded from all International competition.

Greg,

I heard Yorkshire are signing Jason 'very dodgy mullet' Gellispie (aka 'where is your caravan or dizzy) ... is there any truth in this?

I heard that Taibu might relocate to South Africa and try to qualify to play for them. Certainly, Taibu could displace Mark Boucher - I wonder if Taibu would meet the 'quota' criteria, even though he would be a foreign national?

Anyway - does anyone, such as John or Paoli know if it is the case that Taibu will move to SAF?

I think I read he'll have to sign some sort of contract for that. But I'll be interesting to see what happens.

Its bad.. Zimbabwe cricket is getting worse and worse. Lots of good players have quit cricket in 5 years.

Well, does any one know the criteria for playing for one country and playing another country? How many years does it requires..? What are the methods to qualify for another country.. whats the criteria..?
