I'm on your side, to a certain extent. I too have dual nationality but in the unlikely event of me playing pro sport, I'd choose Australia over Italy in the blink of an eye.

Zimbabwe is a bit different...isolated case. But if these players do the hard yards and qualify, then they shouldn't be treated differently. Ray Price is a gun and I hope he does play for England.

In the one dayers Price wasn't much of a wickettaker. But one thing he could do, and with distinction, was tie down an end. You'd consistently see him getting 0-35 off 10, 1-40 off 10, and lowering the amount of runs we'd have to chase. He's a better bowler than Giles, and was often Streak's weapon of choice in the test matches. He took a lot of test wickets and five-fers; my fondest memory of him was a 6-120 at the SCG against Australia where he bowled exceptionally. He is capable of bowling long spells.

I doubt he'll play for England, but still, if Dunc's at the helm, an option to be looked at.

hi paoli

i think with monty now (i watched the summer games and i like the lad) price playing for england is not a possibility.

i live in what i consider to be the most nationalist part of catalonia - yet Barca F.C. is the national side - despite the fact that there are only 3 catalan players regularly in the team and it's run by a dutchman. they don't watch the WC but winning the champions league was heavenly reward for their religious devotion to the "national" side.
i can't think of anything that symbolizes catalunya more (for them) - a foriegn team managed by foreigners - strange.

Ahhh... I see your point - its not the fact they can change at any moment but the show that they are committed to play for that nation. Thats fair.

I know what you mean by that, but it's different. Spain's an isolated case and as much as they want to think Barca is their country, it is strictly a club side. Bit different with international cricket though.

And I don't think Ray Price has a chance eithe, though in that "second spinner"...maybe. Back on the Catalunya point, I know how much it means to them...what was Lineker's quote...something like, "The Catalans are a nation and Barcelona is their army".
