| Ray Price wants to play for England Ray Price, the former Zimbabwe slow left arm, has revealed that he would like to play test cricket for England in the future. http://content-uk.cricinfo.com/ci/co...ml?CMP=OTC-RSS Personally, I'm all for players naturalising and playing so long as they are good enough. Price obviously has politics to deal with in Zimbabwe, but if he is a test standard player, what is wrong with him playing for England, for example?

| I don't want any players who have played for other nations playing for England. As valid as their reasons may be for not wanting to play for their own country anymore i feel it is wrong. However if Zimbabwe were for some reason excluded from full international cricket then maybe it is something i could accept easier. Before anybody brings up the fact we have KP i remind you he has family from the UK so his case is slightly different. |

| I hate it when some players immigrate and play for other nations and become succesful for them. |

| I think there would be nothing wrong with it providing he renounces his Zimbabwaen citizenship. Only then is he a true Englishman I consider dual-nationals only pseudo/ersatz countrymen and as such have no right to national representation.

| Seamer, there is a flaw in your arguement in regards to renouncing his citizenship and becoming a citizen to another country - rather than a dual citizen. I am an Australian and in two years time, if I wanted, I could renounce my Australian citizenship (Not that I will) and become a citizen of the United States of America. Well say 3 years after that I get home sick - I then apply for Australian citizenship as my parents are Australian and I gain citizenship from Australia. I guess thats the reason for Dual Citizenship. |

i remember some lip-licking when they were introduced into the attack - not always wise to arrack the part-timer, even when it's solanki clearly.rhetorical question though, how did the other potential spinners do yesterday?? loudon - no wkts, higher econ, more overs. batty - two wkts, 2 more overs though, and a higher econ..who knows with a couple of extra overs!? middlebrook - one wkt, higher econ ferely - an extra over, same wkts, higher econ durston - 2 more overs, higher econ rashid - 2 more overs, econ much higher croft - much of a muchness but is not in the picture. then of course phillips..who?...phillips, some guy with a first class ave of 50...but apparently is on the up and up so sorry ray - for me it's solanki as first choice and phillips second. that is first choice behind monty. |

I have nothing against dual nationality - Australia relies on it to keep skilled workers and maintain our population levels. My wife is a dual UK/Aus (UK born). So are my kids (Aus born) It is just a philosophy of mine. Unless you renounce your citizenship, you should only be allowed to represent the nation you were born in, otherwise national representation loses all meaning and becomes somewhat mercenary
