mupariwa, i am convinced, is our most consistent/best bowler. he came away from the windies intact and he has a good strike rate and ave. in ODIs

he may have suffered against the aussies who had a couple of guys in red hot form without any pressure - so who didn't?

i honestly don't know how we can afford not to pick him - despite not being in his best rythym he managed to bowl:
T Mupariwa 9 0 43 1 4.77(4w)
not great, but fairly typical ODI figures.

Agree he is the most likely to take wickets as well..cuz both Ireland and Rainsford hardly ever take more than 2 wkts in a match...well Mpariwa's figures were good but i still feel he is not quite fully recovered and that might be the reason why they replaced him with Rinke

fair enough!

would be nice if utseya started taking wickets too - he certainly has it in him. either way, keeping the RR down is a vital part to play.

also, he used to be considered an "allrounder" but little evidence of his batting prowess so far

i have to go but i'll be back throughout the day to check on zims progress.

strydom is a good choice - at least he's done something with the bat in the past!

getting started in a few hours - we'll see

Mpariwa getting a bit of some stick here

Tawanda Mupariwa 4-0-34-0

8.6 Mupariwa to Alviro Petersen, FOUR!!, good length delivery down the leg, Alviro Petersen shuffles across and flicks it to deep mid wicket

it makes for horrible reading all round. have to follow this on cricinfo!

from the list of bowlers who've made an attempt i'd say there is nowhere to hide

well done utseya (particularly for having the guts to bring yourself back on!)
